Your hard drive is important, so don't let it take a beating before you even get a chance to open it. We're shipping all our hard drives with new shock resistant packaging , which means they can handle just about everything the shipping process may throw at them.
In traditional packaging, the hard drive is wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a standard small shipping box. The standard small shipping box is usually too big for the hard drive, so air pillows are added to fill in the open space. The bubble wrap and air pillows are vulnerable to deflating during the shipping process, leading to the possiblity of hard drive damage.
With the new shock-resistant packaging, the hard drive is placed in an engineered inflatable packaging. The unique design of the inflatable packaging keeps a series of adjoining tubes securely inflated to cushion and protect products during shipment. The air tubes are connected via a series of patented one-way valves—if one air chamber is punctured, the others remain inflated. The hard drives are then placed in a hard drive-sized customized shipping box for shipping. This shipping method protects the hard drive from any possible damage during the shipping process.
