HOW WINDOWS 10 WILL WORK WITH XBOX ONE
When Windows 10 launches on July 29, gaming will be a major focus. Microsoft is looking to improve the gaming experience across both Win 10 PCs and their Xbox One consoles, and to that end the new OS will come with an official Xbox app built in.
Here's some of what you'll be able to do with the Windows 10 Xbox app:
Stream Xbox One games to PC
– Xbox One and Windows 10 were both built with some integration in mind. With Windows 10, Xbox One owners will be able to stream their favorite Xbox One games to their PC. So if the living room TV is occupied, you'll be able to head to your office, fire up your PC or Windows tablet, and keep playing Halo 5.Game DVR for PC Games
– Game recording and video making is bigger than ever, but currently gamers use dozens of different popular hardware and software solutions to get the job done. Microsoft is looking to unify the experience with Windows 10, as it will include a dedicated Game DVR app for capturing gameplay footage. With the app you'll be able to either record the last 30 seconds of gameplay at the press of a button, or manually start and stop recording of an exciting moment, then edit the video and share it with friends.Communicate with Friends
– The Xbox app on Windows 10 also brings all of your Xbox Live friends to your PC. You'll be able to send messages to friends, invite them to a party chat, and check out their profiles and achievements – all while playing your PC games. With Windows 10, Microsoft will be making Xbox Live a unified experience across the console and PC spectrum.PC and Xbox cross-platform play
– For years console gamers and PC gamers have wanted a way to play against each other on their respective platforms, and while there have been some fringe examples of it in practice in the past, it has mostly been a fantasy. Windows 10 is bringing this desire to fruition.Fable Legends will be one of the first games that will pit PC gamers and console gamers against each other, along with the upcoming MOBA-style game Gigantic. But it doesn't stop at AAA titles: according to Microsoft the indie game #IDARB will also be cross-platform-play compatible, as well as smash hit Minecraft.
Whether you're a PC gamer or more of an Xbox fan, there's a lot to be excited about in Windows 10.
