Established in 1958, Changhong has witnessed significant prosperity and is now one of the largest Chinese consumer electronics providers specializing in R&D, manufacturing and marketing of consumer electronic products. Changhong became a publicly traded company with shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1994. In 2005, Changhong's annual turnover hit $2.2 billion USD and reached $3.1 billion USD in 2006. In June of 2008, Changhong's overall brand was valued at $9.5 billion USD. Today, Changhong has branches and joint ventures with over 35,000 employees worldwide.

Founded in 2003, Guangdong Changhong Electronics Co., Ltd., with registered capital of $500 million RMB, is a large-scale consumer electronics enterprise integrated with the R&D, production and marketing of digital flat-panel TVs (LCD, PDP, and LED) and CRT TVs, and also the overseas business center of Changhong Group. With a total area of 480,000 meters squared, construction area of 320,000 meters squared and more than 3,000 employees, Guangdong Changhong Electronics Co., Ltd. is a strategic base of Changhong Group for South China and the international market.

Guangdong Changhong has set up commercial centers in 10 countries such as the US, France, Algeria, Ukraine, India, and Thailand, with 6 subsidiaries in Australia, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Hong Kong. Together, with the strategy of promoting a self-owned brand, Guangdong Changhong has also jointly developed OEM/ODM business with many world famous brands, with a sales network spanning all over the world and products sold in more than 110 countries and regions.

With the strong backup of a state-level technical center from Changhong Group, Guangdong Changhong has established its own R&D center for the overseas market, which is made up of more than 100 engineers and focuses on the development of new flat panel display products, digital chipsets, embedded software and other key parts.
